Be My Natural Valentine (25+ Mostly DIY, SUPER Easy, Eco-Friendly, Natural Gift Ideas)
Valentine's Day (or Christmas or a birthday or St. Paddy's Day, or Easter....or something) is coming right up, friends! I don't go into the stores very much any more, but I am positive there are holiday reminders every where you go right now.
I don't know about you, but I get really stressed out every time one of these big gift-giving holidays comes around. Everyone has all these expectations, right?
And you know what?
I love making gifts for people, especially if I can plan ahead a little bit. Herbal gifts, especially, are my favorites.
You know I am all into natural health and herbal healing, plus I love DIY and gardening....so, I'm sharing my favorite Natural Gift Ideas that you can easily make for friends and family (and yourself!), especially if you start now. (Most of these are herbal, but there are a couple DIY gifts I've included here that aren't. But they are still good ones ideas!)

Herbal Gift Ideas for Valentine's Day or All the Holidays!
Believe it or not.....chocolate is GOOD for you! It's actually an herb! Cacao is the source of all chocolate, and the darker it is, the better it is for you. Plus---it makes you happy! So, here are some homemade chocolate recipes you can make:
*** My friend, Danielle, over at The Rustic Elk, shares her recipe for Chocolate Hearts!
*** And how about some Herbal Chocolate Bark? This is such an easy sweet and healthy treat to make, and the herbal combinations are endless!
Herbal Teas for Valentine's
*** What is better than roses and chocolate, right? Everyone loves that combination! And who doesn't love a good spicy chai tea? Well, I've got you covered with my Rosy Chocolate Chai loose leaf herbal tea! Mmmmm....
*** And how about some Happiness Tea? This tea is great in the Winter, especially if you suffer from S.A.D. It's REALLY pretty, too, being made with Rose petals!
Herbal Handmade Soap and Body
This is a FUN section! Don't you love creating homemade body products? And if you don't, you can buy many of these over on Etsy (one of my favorite places)! Here are some ideas for soaps and body products you can make:
*** Lovely Cranberry Sugar & Spice Body Scrub—-This bright pink scrub is naturally colored with crushed cranberries, which contain incredible skin healthy natural properties. It’s easy and just gorgeous!
*** How about some aromatherapy bath salts? My friend, Kelly, over at Simple Life Mom, is an expert with body care products---Click here for her recipe for her natural bath salts!
*** You can create an easy, effective and beautiful detoxifying body scrub or bath soak with rose petals! Here is my recipe for Rose Petal Body Scrub & Bath Soak---a spa experience!
*** And then there is my own hot process soap---so even if you are running out of time and don't have several weeks to cure your soap, you can STILL make your own handmade soap for Valentine's Day (or any holiday). This is a link to my Rose Petal hot process soap---It's beautiful, if I do say so myself!
*** If you are brand new to making handmade soaps, how about giving Melt & Pour soap making a try? You can find out how to make some super cute heart-shaped handmade soaps in under 30 minutes!
*** Don't forget about herbal salves! Salves are healing as well as being just lovely. Here is my recipe for Rose Petal Herbal Salve, and boy, does it smell terrific!
*** And one for your hair: This is for Rosemary Hair Pomade from The House and Homestead--and if you didn't know this already, rosemary is extremely excellent for your hair and scalp.
*** And here is another from Charlotte for her special facial serum! Wouldn't that be a great gift to get? These are SO expensive when you buy them in the stores, but they are easy and effective to make.
Herbal Essential Oils for Valentine's Day
*** Honestly, there are a couple of essential oil blends I'm madly in love with right now. The first one is Love Vanilla by Plant Therapy. It's warm and sweet, but not cloying. I've been using it every single day for the past two weeks! I can't get enough of it!
*** Another essential oil blend I am seriously loving, and have been wearing like perfume, is Whisper from doTerra. It's soft and feminine, but a little spicy too.
Herbal Gifts for Men
Oooohhhh, those men in our lives! Aren't they just so hard to buy for? Or make things for? :-) It's always a struggle. It's easy to give underwear and socks, because they can't have enough of these....but what about a really cool gift for the guy in your life? Here are some ideas:
*** From Kelly at Simple Life Mom: There's Natural Homemade After Shave, and how about some Beard Conditioning Oil? Again, Kelly is an absolute expert when it comes to her body, face and hair care products! You can also check out her Etsy shop!
How about handmade soap for your guy?
*** I could have put this in the Herbal Tea section above, but I'm adding it here because this is a special tea for supporting men's reproductive health and prostate. Here is my recipe for Manly Man Tea!
*** Finally, if you are still stumped, check out my Ultimate Gift Guide for the Manly Man. There are over 100 gift ideas for ALL the men out there: The sportsman, the homesteader, the gardener, the survivalist, the prepper, the businessman....there's an idea for ALL the men!
Gifts for the Home:
*** Kelly, from Simple Life Mom, shares her Homemade Air Fresheners. You're probably aware by now, but chemical fragrances, including those in candles, plug-ins, sprays, and more contain terribly damaging chemicals that affect your hormones, endocrine system, and lots more! Do your family a favor and make your own! What an awesome gift! The gift of health.
*** And, on that note, how about making some homemade beeswax candles? Here’s how to make Beeswax candles in a Mason jelly jar. SO easy, useful, and great for a friend’s home on Valentine’s Day.
Needlecraft & Sewing:
Here are two excellent gifts that require a little skill, but if you can sew or knit, these are great ideas:
*** Easy Sew Headache Pillow & Sinus Aid----I LOVE this. My friend Lisa, over at Feathers in the Woods, shares this herbal pillow, and it works!
*** And everyone could use a good scarf. My friend, Victoria, over at A Modern Homestead, shares how she makes a Cable Knit Scarf. I wish I had those skills---and if you do, I can tell you, everything Victoria does is excellent, so this will be a great pattern.
Final Thoughts About Herbal Gift Giving
Whether or not it's Valentine's Day---these are all gifts that are great to give the ones you love. And if you can get your kids to help, that's even better!
