Handmade Soap---Balls

Handmade Soap---Balls

When I make hot process soaps, I cut off the top of the loaf to make a smoother top for the bars of soaps.  What to do with the extra? I hand shape them into soap balls! These range from 4 to 5 ounces, generally, so they are quite large. I never know which kinds I'll have, so if you want soap balls, it will be a random pick!

These are fun! Look nice in a bowl, and will scent a small bathroom. If they are too large for your hands (as some people have told me), just cut them in half for a nice, scented hemisphere of soap!

My soaps are vegan, all natural, lather extremely well, and last a long time if they are properly cared for. They are also highly scented with essential oils (never fragrance oils, which contain chemicals), and they'll permeate your shower or bath for an amazing aromatherapy experience!

What is "all-natural?"

We hear these words thrown around all the time.  But what does that mean? Well, you need to know that the word, "natural," can actually refer to any chemical substance that mimics exactly the natural substance, even if it's man-made.  Therefore--you really need to look at ingredients.

Here's what's in my handmade, hot process soaps:

Organic olive oil, coconut oil, distilled water, sweet almond oil, food grade sodium hydroxide (needed to saponify the oils), shea butter, essential oils, natural colorants and sometimes textures (I use a variety of combinations of herbs, clays, pumices, oatmeals, and/or root powders), and castor oil.  That's it!

As you can see:  All natural.

How to care for handmade soaps:

It's very important to keep handmade soaps out of sitting water. You'll need a well-drained soap dish or area for the soap to completely dry out between uses. If you do this, the soap will last a super long time.

How big are the bars of soap?

I hand cut the bars of soap, so they are all not exactly uniform. Generally, each bar weighs between 4.5 and 5.5 ounces.  I try to get them as close to 5 ounce bars as I can. They are 3 1/2 inches wide, 2 1/2 inches tall, and an approximate 1 inch width.

About the Wrapping Options:

I'll be honest. Wrapping soaps is not my favorite thing to do. With that said, I can and will wrap your soaps for you. Here is how each option will come, so you can make your best choice:

Unwrapped:  Just as it sounds, your soaps will be wrapped in tissue paper, but will not be fancy. I'll provide label information on an insert in the package.

Wrapped in Pretty Paper:  I'll wrap your soaps attractively in lovely and sturdy paper, with the ends open. Label will be attached to the paper, front and back.

In a 100% Reusable Cotton Muslin Bag:  I'll place your soap in a nice sized organic cotton muslin bag. You can reuse the bag for anything you wish, including for making loose leaf teas! These are hand washable--you have to be careful of the draw strings, as they are delicate.  I'll place the labels inside the bag with the soap.

About Inventory:

I make my soaps in very small batches---about 8 bars at a time. Therefore, the amount listed in the "unwrapped" section of the checkout is what I actually have on hand.  No worries if you want more, though! Just email me, and I'll make up what you need!

About the Shipping Costs:

The shipping cost is high, I know.  I can't really help the USPS rates.  I ship flat rate, and the least expensive charge I can do that for is $7 and change as of current rates. My shop only gives me options per item or per order, and I've decided to just place a flat shipping fee per order. Therefore, I'm charging a flat fee of $10, no matter if you purchase 1 bar of soap or 10 bars of soap!  The next shipping cost above $7 is nearly $14, so it's an evened out amount.  I use padded flat rate envelopes for very small orders, and then move up to medium-size flat rate boxes for more items. Maximum soaps: 20 per flat rate fee.

Because my soaps are excellent, most people end up ordering upwards of 5 or 6 bars at a time, and in this way get more soap and save tons on shipping!

***If I don't have the inventory available on the shop, and you want additional items, please email me at healingharvesthomestead@gmail.com, and I'll adjust the product form so you can order more.

I'm happy to custom make what you need!

For example, if you want 10 bars of soap, and only 3 are listed available, I'll adjust the order form for you, and get your soap made! I'll need about 5 days to get your custom soap ready.  If I need more time, I'll let you know.

Also, if there are specific scents you'd like that you don't see, just ask.  These scent groups are what I'm able to work within:

Woodsy scents (pine, tea tree,  eucalyptus, frankincense, myrrh, cedar wood, sometimes juniper, etc.)

"Green" scents (rosemary, thyme, eucalyptus, peppermint, spearmint, etc.)

Spicy scents (cinnamon, clove, anise, vanilla, etc.)

Citrus scents (grapefruit, tangerine, orange, lemon, lemongrass, mandarin)

Florals (lavender, rose geranium, palmarosa, patchouli)
