On Being So Very Blessed.....

Has something ever happened that made you feel just so fortunate and blessed?  I had an experience just this morning like that.  I know we live in a beautiful place.  I know we are so fortunate to be able to have a good-sized garden in this desert, lots of chickens and a few turkeys, and our horses to ride.  Not to mention our dogs and cats.  And the beauty of our little mountain town is just indescribable.

I got to meet a couple of the nicest people this morning who had to come out to the property.  They brought their little grand daughter too.  So, it was a really fun time seeing where we live and all the furry and feathered faces through other people's eyes for a minute.

It's a lot of hard work to live up here and have the kind of lifestyle we have chosen.  And sometimes the hard work makes us forget just how very blessed we are.  So the reality check I had this morning was priceless.

I got a new appreciation for my old dog, Ranger, who the little girl fell in love with---completely.

And my front yard that is full of plants that look like weeds, but most of which are medicinal herbs.  LOTS of flowers right now, especially Calendula, Feverfew and St. John's Wort.

A patch of St. John's Wort and a bit of Feverfew too.

Then there's the chickens and especially the turkeys.  The toms are pretty fabulous right now.

There's a lot more out here for which to be thankful.  I could go on and on and on.  But one of the best things I'm grateful for right now is the opportunity to have had a reminder.  Thank you, God!
